We are very quickly coming to the end of our Spring Semester and the children are blooming like flowers!

Today, as well as our regular work, I helped each of the children choose a song they would like to perform at our “End of Year Recital”.     This IS NOT a huge event – it’s simply an opportunity for the children to share with their parents and friends an example of what they’ve learned this year.  They have done so well and are excited to play for you.   The Recital will take place at our last class (June 17, 12:30 pm  - 1:00).

Here is a list of the songs the children chose.  It would be helpful for them to play this at home between classes so they are totally comfortable with it.  I’ve also given directions to find the music.  In all cases,  go into the “Library” and click on the picture of the computer. Then follow instructions for your child’s song.  You may have to go into “FREE” setting (click on tool box on lower right corner of screen).

Caitlyn has chosen “BINGO”.  In  CMJ  2  Find songs that go to Low G.    Scroll down to find “BINGO”

Maren has chosen “LONDON BRIDGE”.   In CMJ  2   Find songs to Low G.  Scroll down to find “London Bridge”.

Sarina will be playing “Go Tell Aunt Rhody”.   In CMJ 2  find songs with HIGH G – then scroll down to “Go Tell Aunt Rhody”.

Simon has chosen “Walzing Mathilda”.  In CMJ 2 find songs with eighth notes.  Mathilda is in there :)

Luke will play “Liza Jane”.  In CMJ 1 look in songs for the Right Hand.   Scroll down to find Liza Jane

Sophie has chosen “Alouette”.  In CMJ 2 find Songs to high G.  Scroll down to Allouette.

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ELECTRONIC KEYBOARD, YOU CAN STILL GO TO THESE SONGS TO SEE THEM, HEAR THEM AND PLAY THEM ON A REGULAR PIANO.

See you next week :)

Catherine

If you can help your child with this at least once or twice it would be great – we want them to feel as comfortable as possible when they perform for others.
