Another fun week!
I have suggested on several occasions that the children may prefer to stand up when they play. They are not very big and the keyboards are often so high that it’s difficult for them to see the keys properly, or keep a nice hand position. Whatever makes them more comfortable is the right thing.
Brynn was absent and we missed her
Callie completed lesson 18 and amazed me by how well she plays with BOTH HANDS at the same time! Surprise me with a new song. This is very exciting. Bravo Callie!
Max worked very hard and did a lot of work. He completed lesson 21. Max, when you sit down at the keyboard, remember to hold your invisible ball and then carefully keep your hands in that nice rounded position and place BOTH hands on the keyboard with your thumbs on Middle “C”. KEEP THEM LIKE THIS ! Check to see that each finger is on it’s own key. Try to play your music with BOTH hands like this. Then you’ll always be ready for the next note :) It is very important to remember that your thumb is always on Middle C and that you use the correct fingers. I know this is tricky but you are doing so well. Really good work
Colin is really focused he just keeps on working ! He completed lesson 26 and has a beautiful hand position. he played “Ode to Joy” and “Mary had a BIG FAT SHEEP”. Excellent job!
Amelia did lesson 67 and learned and performed “On the Bridge, Avignon”. Find a new song to play for us – look in “songs with f#”. Please remember to keep both hands on the keyboard when you play so you are ready for the next note. Make sure you use your left hand for the low notes! Great work Amelia.
Have a funny, sunny week
