We had a really special class this week…. Lots of new things for everyone.
Maren zoomed into lesson 6 and has a new “teacher” , Mr. Bach. She played the song, “Jumping Bean” and did a great job. Please choose a new song to learn this week. Wonderful work!
Caitlyn completed lesson 43 and worked hard at the woodpecker (metronome) rhythms. This is not easy – often they really ARE correct, but computer “teachers” can be overly picky. She also played a new song, “Merry-go-Round”. Great work Caitlyn.
Sarina completed lesson 52 and told us many things about her new teacher, “Mr, Handle”. This was very interesting and excellent work Sarina! This week Sarina will work on “Oh Susanna” (look in “songs to low G). Bravo Sarina !
Simon completed lesson 66 !! His new “teacher” is Mr Scarlatti. The problem with the woodpecker metronome on the songs is everyone’s complaint. I have asked if there is a way to turn this feature off. I have an idea that may be the solution for Simon …. we’ll talk about it next week Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view. Simon, please remember to hold your invisible ball when you sit at the keyboard. Then keep your hands in that lovely rounded shape and place BOTH hands on the keyboard (thumbs on Middle “C”). THEN … leave both hands there with each finger on it’s own key. When you play, your fingers will be on the correct note and you will always be ready for the next note. It’s VERY important to use the correct finger and keep your hand in the rounded shape. Flat fingers that are far away from the keys will never be able to play fast !! Terrific work.
Luke completed lesson 10 and played a new song “Wriggling worms”. Please find a new song to play this week. Luke’s wood pecker rhythms are excellent and his hand position is beautiful. Bravo Luke!
Sophie completed lesson 43 and learned two new songs – “By the Sea” and “Hill and Mountain”. Sophie has some new music that she can look at. Always great work Sophie.
Have a good week – lots of fun, music, and sunshine!
